Carolyn and I have been attending Lord of the Harvest Christian Fellowship for five years. However, our relationship with Pastor “Oz” (Mike Osminski) goes back to 1992 when Oz was the Associate Pastor at the Fisherman=s Net Christian Church. At that time I was struggling with “third degree” alcoholism, which had wrought severe relationship problems, financial problems, and a mind that had become “fragmented” or disconnected. “In a nutshell”, Pastor Oz counciled me, discipled me, and God resurrected my life, fulfilling Ezekiel 16:6, “When I passed by you and saw you wallowing in your own blood, I said unto you, Live!” Pastors Oz and Jan (his wife) have become our spiritual mentors and dear friends, and we have embraced their belief that in the end of things a Christian will be rewarded not so much by how well we've lived our own personal lives but in how we've attended to “the least of these, my brothers.” (Matthew 25:31-46) Carolyn currently serves as co-leader of “The Most Excellent Way” women=s group (an outreach towards alcohol, drug, and other deeply entrenched sin issues). She is the coordinator for a current program called “The Detroit Partnership Initiative” overseen by the Skillman Foundation. I am involved in foreign missions and currently sit on our church Missions Board as well as being a board member for “The Open Arms Foundation” in West Virginia (A Medellin, Columbia, South America, mission to street boys and unwed mothers). I am an assistant coordinator (to Carolyn) in “The Detroit Partnership Initiative.” This past September, 2006, Carolyn and I were ordained as Assistant Pastors in our church. One of the works that Carolyn and I are currently involved with is the establishment of a home that will house up to 6 unrelated women from our church community that have special needs. While our vision extends beyond the work that we are currently engaged, we’re certain that as long as we are faithful to the vision of Pastors Oz and Jan, the purposes of God will be fulfilled in our own lives as well. Tom and Carolyn have three children and two grandchildren.
